Our Story
...from first glance to forever
Christiana
“A journey of friendship and fate.
Sometimes, love sneaks up on you in the quietest way, blossoming over years of friendship and shared moments. Looking back, I see that our story wasn’t so much about one grand, sweeping gesture, but rather a steady, unwavering connection that was simply meant to be. The funny part? I had no idea that the boy I met as a teenager would one day become my husband...”

“It was definitely from first glance to forever.
They say love at first sight is a myth—a dream for the hopeless romantics and an illusion for the rest of us. But I can tell you, with absolute certainty, that it’s real. Because when I first saw her back in 2010, I knew. I knew that I was looking at my future wife...”

We first crossed paths at church in 2010. At the time, I was just a teenager with a thousand things on my mind and not a single thought of romance. But there he was—a friendly, thoughtful guy who instantly felt familiar, like someone I’d known forever. It didn’t take long for us to become friends. He was always kind, making everyone around him laugh, bringing people together. In him, I found a friend who just got me, who listened without judgment, who made me feel understood in a way few others did.
Over the years, our friendship deepened. We shared countless conversations, leaned on each other through ups and downs, and built a bond that felt solid, easy, and natural. For four years, we were just that—friends. And that friendship was enough for us both, or at least I thought so.
But as time went on, something began to shift. Looking back, I see now that the signs were there, subtle at first, just quiet little moments that seemed to have a different weight to them. There was something in the way he looked at me, something I couldn’t quite put my finger on but that made me feel seen and valued in a way that felt special. And then, one day, it hit me like a revelation: he wasn’t just my best friend; he was the person I wanted by my side forever.
When we finally decided to move beyond friendship, it felt both exhilarating and terrifying. I was so aware of how precious our friendship was, how easily things could change. But deep down, I knew that this was something real, something worth risking it all for. And once we took that step, there was no going back.
Being with him has taught me so much about what love truly means. He’s been my biggest cheerleader, my rock, my constant in a world that sometimes feels anything but certain. He’s been there for all the little, quiet moments that make up a life—the ones that don’t always seem significant but that build a bond that can’t be shaken.
As we approach this new chapter, I am filled with a quiet joy and gratitude. To think that the boy I met as a teenager, who was my friend long before he was my love, will soon be my husband—it’s a gift that still amazes me.
To our family and friends, thank you for being a part of our journey, for supporting us, and for celebrating with us as we take this next step. This love story is as much about all of you as it is about us. After all, every love story needs its witnesses, its cheerleaders, and its believers. We are so grateful to have you by our side.

Some moments in life seem ordinary at first but, in hindsight, change everything. For us, that moment was at church, the place where we both grew up spiritually and unknowingly, the place where our story began. I remember standing there, glancing across the room, and seeing her for the first time. I can’t quite explain it, but I was captivated, drawn in by something far beyond just a look. She was—and still is—the most beautiful person I had ever seen. And while I hadn’t even learned her name yet, some part of me knew she was the one.
Of course, at that point, neither of us had any idea where our paths would take us. Life went on; we became friends, spending time together in groups, sharing laughter, inside jokes, and easy conversations. We spent four years in that friendship—four years that laid the foundation for something neither of us could have fully understood then. It was like the universe was setting the stage, giving us time to get to know each other, to build a connection that ran deep.
It wasn’t a decision we made lightly when we decided to start dating. After all, we’d built a friendship that was incredibly important to us. But by then, something had shifted, a quiet realization that this was more than friendship. I remember one evening, sitting and talking as we often did, and I thought, *this is it*. This is the person I want by my side for all of life’s big and small moments. And just as I had known that very first day, I knew again, with even more certainty, that she was my forever.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every step of our journey—the friendship, the laughter, and all the little memories that brought us closer to each other. When people ask us about our story, they’re often surprised at how long it took us to go from friends to something more. But we both know that those years as friends gave us something priceless: a foundation of trust, respect, and genuine love.
Now, as I stand here, on the brink of calling her my wife, I feel nothing but gratitude. She’s been my friend, my partner, my confidant, and soon, she’ll be my forever. They say good things come to those who wait, but I think the best things come to those who believe from the very beginning.
So, to all of you reading this, we can’t wait to share this day with you—to celebrate a love that started with a single glance across a room, that grew through years of friendship, and that will, without a doubt, last a lifetime.
“Love is not just a feeling; it is a decision.” And for us, that decision has transformed our lives. Now, we’re ready to celebrate this choice with all of you, as we step into forever.”
